The VelociRaptor 1200 by Hennessey is not trying to be balanced. That much is obvious; instead, it is trying to stand out from the crowd with a massive carbon fiber kit, exclusive details in the cabin, and huge power under the hood.
Hennessey chose this Ford F-250 Raptor R as the foundation of an exclusive aero kit, which is a limited-production pickup truck that celebrates 250 years of American independence. And the final result, as you can see in the photo gallery below, is a mind-blowing build. And from where I stand, it is the kind of build that exists simply because it can.
Exterior
As already mentioned, the aero kit consists of plenty of carbon fiber parts all over the body. The engineers from Hennessey have played around with the truck’s front bumper, hood, and rear bumper, providing a more aggressive as well as a heavier look than the standard model.
Also, new LED headlights were installed along with LED daytime running lights. The size of the proportions also appears deliberately bloated because of the installation of gigantic 24-inch wheels and 37 inch off-road tires. The outside tour is finished with the VelociRaptor 1200 badging that makes it very clear that we are not being sold a normal off-road car.
Interior
There is a lot of upscale material inside the cabin. The seats, such as those, are completed with black leather and Alcantara and a visual contrast is provided with stitching. The touch of Hennessey is in fact seen everywhere around the cabin and that is a constant reminder of a highly customized truck and not a vehicle that came out on a regular production line. Even the plaque on the dashboard is a serial one, which proves that each model is personally numbered.
Complete Powertrain Information
The engine is mostly directed to the center of attention. VelociRaptor 1200 uses a huge V8 supercharged engine with a liter capacity of 5.2 liter, which has a mind-blowing 1,200 HP and 900 lb-ft of torque. Through a 4WD system, all the power is directed to the wheels giving the car a sprint of 0 to 100km/h in under 3.0 seconds. The quarter mile is covered at 10.9 seconds.
Other Mechanical Highlights
To achieve such an amazing speed and power, Hennessey tuner equipped this VelociRaptor with some of the coolest mechanical components, such as an upgraded supercharger, a high-flow air induction system, new fuel injectors, and a stainless steel exhaust system.
Pricing
This mean machine is priced in accordance with its market worth and the amount of hard work that has been invested in the production of the most powerful trucks ever manufactured. The conversion per se involved a cost of 135,000, which totals to the market worth of the car, 114,000. The amount is a staggering 249,000.
