Bizzarrini 5300 GT Centenario Closes the Revival Series with V8 Power

Bizzarrini picked a neat moment for its last 5300 GT Corsa Revival. One hundred years after Giotto Bizzarrini was born, the Italian company has prepared the Centenario Edition, a hand-built tribute to the man behind one of its best-known machines. The car also draws a line under the Revival series before the brand moves toward its first all-new model since the 1960s.

The original 5300 GT arrived in 1964, shaped by Giorgetto Giugiaro during his time at Bertone. Underneath its low body sat an American V8, while the whole package earned a reputation as a Ferrari 250 GTO rival. Bizzarrini does not hide from that old brief here. The Centenario keeps the same basic engineering idea, with a single-piece composite body over a steel frame, independent rear suspension, and disc brakes all around.

There is nothing quiet about the specification, even if the paint tries to keep the shape clean. The Centenario wears deep gloss black, chosen to remove visual clutter and place more attention on the car’s stance. Beneath the bodywork sits a period-specific 5.3-liter V8, rated at 400 horsepower. Bizzarrini says the resulting power-to-weight ratio puts the car near modern supercar territory. Or close enough to make the point.

Each Revival-series car follows FIA Appendix K regulations. Each one is race-ready as well. That detail matters, because this is not a retro display piece with old graphics and modern softness underneath. The Centenario Edition stays close to the source material, while adding the finish and build quality expected from a low-volume continuation model.

The car will appear over the weekend at Fuori Concorso, held at Villa Grumello, Lake Como, Italy. Bizzarrini also used the occasion to launch an official registry program. Through this program, owners will be able to register vehicles with the brand, while Fabbrica Bizzarrini will identify, authenticate, and restore cars upon request.

Isobel Dando, Chief Executive at Bizzarrini, described the Centenario as both a tribute and a handover point. “One hundred years on from his birth, the Bizzarrini brand is about to take the next exciting step in that story. The Centenario Edition exists to celebrate what has come before as we close that chapter and step into the future,” she said.

That future points toward the Giotto, a limited-run hyper GT and successor to the 5300 GT. A custom naturally aspirated V12 from Cosworth will power the new car, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Bizzarrini has tested the Giotto since 2024, after Giorgetto Giugiaro finalized the design in 2023. Customer deliveries should begin soon.
