Space is the first thing many camper van buyers worry about. The latest Monza from UK-based Swift takes a different approach. Rather than chasing larger dimensions, the company focuses on fitting as much equipment and living space as possible into a Ford Transit Custom-based package.
The result impressed Ford itself. Swift received Ford Pro Convertor approval for the Monza conversion, giving the model official backing from the Blue Oval. Owners also gain access to Ford Pass and its associated benefits. The conversion rides on a Transit Custom chassis, though the real story sits behind the sliding door.

Sleeping arrangements accommodate four people. Two guests use the lower section, while another pair sleeps above in a pop-top roof compartment. Once raised, the upper structure reveals a dedicated bed surrounded by ripstop canvas side panels and flexible windows. Integrated LED lighting runs around the outer edge of the roof. When the upper bed is folded away, interior headroom reaches around 6.5 ft according to reviews.
A complete galley sits inside, accompanied by a dining area. Swift places the entry on the left side of the camper, while the kitchen and rear storage sections occupy the opposite side. The company follows a black-and-white interior theme with curved design elements. One practical detail separates the Monza from the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo. The Swift lacks a fixed door behind the galley, allowing owners to open the second side door and increase airflow through the cabin.

The equipment list stretches far beyond what many expect from a Transit Custom-sized camper. A 42-liter fridge joins a Dometic hub with a two-burner cooktop. Buyers also receive a sink with a folding tap, an external BBQ hookup, an outdoor shower, and a portable toilet integrated into the kitchen module. One observation from the review stands out. The toilet location was not viewed as ideal.
Electrical support receives equal attention. The camper includes 240 W of roof-mounted solar capacity, a controller, and a 95 Ah battery. A 2.2 kW diesel heater handles colder conditions. Freshwater storage totals 40 liters, or 10.5 gallons. There is also dedicated storage for a 6 kg, or 13 lbs, gas bottle. Power outlets are distributed throughout the cabin for charging electronic devices.

Under the hood sits Ford’s 170 hp 2.0-liter TDCi EcoBlue engine paired with an 8-speed transmission. Other factory equipment includes 19-inch wheels, swivel captain’s chairs, half-leather upholstery, a 13-inch touchscreen with DAB radio and CarPlay, TPMS, and a rear-view camera.
Pricing starts at £75,490, equivalent to roughly $101K. American buyers face an additional hurdle. The Monza is not officially offered in the United States, though importation remains a possibility if regulatory approval and shipping requirements are handled separately.
